The global standard for the good governance of oil, gas and mineral resources
The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Standard is a global framework that promotes open and accountable management of oil, gas, and mineral resources. It sets requirements for governments and companies to disclose information across the extractive value chain, including licensing, production, revenues, contracts, beneficial ownership, and state participation.
For investors and other stakeholders, the EITI Standard provides a credible, country-level benchmark for assessing governance, corruption risks, and revenue transparency in resource-rich and often high-risk contexts. By improving public oversight and multi-stakeholder dialogue, the EITI helps mitigate governance and conflict risks associated with extractive activities and supports more responsible, sustainable investment decision-making.
