Guidelines on Social Responsibility for China's Overseas Engineering Contracting Industry

Effective August 26, 2022, the China International Contractors Association has implemented the “Guidelines on Social Responsibility for China’s Overseas Contracting Industry (Version 2.0).” Version 2.0 reorganizes the content into three sections—governance, social, and environmental—and emphasizes that enterprises should fully consider their social and environmental responsibilities throughout the entire project lifecycle. Additionally, Version 2.0 introduces new topics such as social responsibility governance and climate change adaptation and mitigation, providing a set of industry standards for Chinese contracting enterprises to address compliance expectations and manage community and environmental risks in their overseas projects.
