The *Guidelines for Social and Environmental Due Diligence Management in China’s Textile and Apparel Enterprises* were officially released in 2022 by the Social Responsibility Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council. Based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the current state of the industry, and Chinese laws and regulations, and incorporating the essence and lessons learned from relevant domestic and international standards and guidelines on responsible management, the Guidelines aim to provide enterprises with practical, comprehensive, and systematic tools for implementing responsible management and building responsible supply chains. They are designed to enhance enterprises’ ability to identify and manage social and environmental risks within their own operations and supply chains, capitalize on social and environmental value opportunities, and engage in constructive cooperation with other stakeholders in the supply chain on these matters.
