The DCAF-ICRC Partnership Presents a Business for Peace Webinar on "Reimagining Business, Security and Human Rights in COVID-Affected and Fragile Contexts"

DCAF and ICRC presented a webinar with the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education’s (PRME) Business for Peace (B4P) working group on “Reimagining Business, Security and Human Rights in COVID-Affected and Fragile Contexts.”

Led by Claude Voillat and Alan Bryden from the ICRC and DCAF respectively, the webinar drew over 75 participants from academia, the private sector and civil society organizations.

The webinar introduced the DCAF-ICRC partnership, and discussed multistakeholder approaches in fragile contexts, with a specific focus on the serious security related implications of the COVID-19 pandemic in these settings. The crisis has highlighted the necessity of a multistakeholder response that heeds wider lessons on responsible business conduct, focuses on building capacities and reinforces local ownership. The presentation showcased concrete examples of innovative and flexible responses from the field.
