The Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB)

Description

The IHRB is a London based centre of excellence and expertise dedicated to developing research and influencing policy, raising awareness, evaluating practice and building capacity on the interface of the private sector and human rights. A particular focus of the Institute is consultative research on human rights challenges faced by the extractive industries. In one of its current projects, the ‚Nairobi Process: A Pact for Responsible Business, the IHRB, in cooperation with the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, promotes the VPs as a guidance tool to ensure human rights due diligence in the oil and gas exploration in Kenya.
